Gemini Knits came about in May 2007 when I literally dreamt up the name and decided that in addition to my knittting/buying yarn obsession I would start dyeing the stuff too!
I can’t remember how long I wanted to learn to knit but in October 2005 I bought myself a book and haven’t looked back since. I have since found out that I come from a family of knitters and have inherited my Granny and Nana’s needle and yarn stashes.
I live in Eastbourne in East Sussex with my Husband, Daughter and Cat.
I started spinning a year ago and my lovely DH got me my first wheel for Christmas 2009. I have recently opened my Folky shop Gemini Handspun which sells my handpainted fibres for spinning and my handpainted, handspun yarns.
I love to use bright colours on my yarns, I get my inspiration from all around me. I also love to explore my darker side and blend those brights with black for beautiful gothic shades.
I am always happy to create custom orders for people with their own choice of colourways and yarns.
When I’m not looking after my Daughter, knitting, dyeing or spinning I can be found tweeting (quite obsessively these days!), watching and reading anything Vampire or Werewolfey and as of end of Nov 10 I finally have been to my first Womens Institute meeting
